Antoinette is a teacher within the landscape and Horticulture departments at Wintec. She has been teaching in this field for 9 years, and practising horticulture and landscape design for about 30 years in varying positions and locations around the world.

Education and Credentials:

Antoinette studied at Lincoln College gaining a Diploma in Horticulture (1982), then went on the complete a Diploma in Parks and Garden Technology (1987), also from Lincoln.

In 1997 she completed her Degree in Social Science from Canterbury and Waikato University.

Notable Achievements

Antoinette also holds a Permaculture Design Certificate and teaches on the modular permaculture course offered in Hamilton.

To support her teaching Antoinette has completed the Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Education, and is currently undertaking a course in Maori Language and Tikanga, Te Tauihu.

Antoinette has published a paper on the Indigenous Ecosystems of Hamilton City (Wintec) and written one article for the Friends of the Hamilton Gardens on ‘Where to begin in designing a garden’ (2016)

Antoinette is currently fully engaged in teaching, continually searching out creative methods of teaching, and keeping current with design processes and outcomes. She has travelled to Japan as part of a teaching tour of Japanese Gardens and Culture
